History, landscape and fishing villages in Empordà (II)
Begin the route by visiting the monastery of Sant Pere de Roda, building in the 10th and 11th centuries in an area of countryside on the peak of a mountain range facing the Mediterranean Sea, from where you are given one of the best views of Cap de Creus. This was the main spiritual haven of the county of Empúries and its splendour can be seen by the large size of the site.
Take a walk through the countryside of the Cap de Creus Natural Park. Also visit Port Lligat, known throughout the world for having been the place of residence of Salvador Dalí at the house now known as the Salvador Dalí museum-house. Have lunch at a Michelin-star restaurant, the Miramar in Llançà. After lunch, head for Cadaqués, the most unique and authentic fishing village on the whole of the Costa Brava, where you can stroll through the streets that will steal your heart.
