Pagos de híbera – The Cathedral of wine of Pinell del Brai (Terra Alta DO)
The Pagos de Híbera winery is located in the former cooperative winery of Pinell de Brai, popularly known as the Cathedral of Wine of Pinell de Brai.
This building was created by Cèsar Martinell, a disciple and friend of Antoni Gaudí, in 1922. The Modernist building is an architectural gem from the early 20th century. Formed by a warehouse with 46 cement vats holding 30,000 litres and 25 underground vats that, in their time, could hold a capacity of over 2.5 million litres of wine, as well as another warehouse holding an artesanal oil mill.
It is currently one of the most impressive wineries that can be visited in Terra Alta and a must on the Wine Route of this DO.
Its wines, produced mostly using White Grenchae, the local variety par excellence, and the different oils produced in-house can be tried in addition to the visits during the tasting sessions held by the winery.
Our wines with Mediterranean character. We try to create wines with a soul and with the typicality of our land and of our people.
